The neighborhood is bound by the Hudson River in the West, 5th Avenue in the East, 59th Street in the North and 34th street in the South.

Times Square has some of the best nightlife in the city. Residents can head to a Broadway show in Times Square or the legendary speakeasies in Hell’s Kitchen. The Chelsea neighborhood (to the South) has an abundance of warehouse nightclubs and art exhibitions.


Since Midtown West is attracts a large number of tourists year-round, there is a varied assortment of hotels in the neighborhood. Visitors can stay at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, Comfort Inn Midtown West or the Holiday Inn in Manhattan West Side. For more luxurious digs, visitors can head to the Plaza on Central Park South or the Trump International Hotel New York in neighboring Columbus Circle.


There is no shortage of shopping in Midtown. New Yorkers flock to Midtown for mid-range and high-end shopping. Stores are open in Times Square until 1 a.m. Herald Square, on W. 34th Street, is home to Macy's, boasting itself as “The World’s Largest Store”.
